Wigtownshire needs more volunteers
Cats Protection has cared for and rehomed many cats in the Dumfries and Galloway area. Each branch is always full to capacity with waiting list of cats needing to come into our care and be re homed. Unless we increase our number of fosterers, we will be unable to help a lot of cases that are brought to our attention. local branches are run purely by volunteers, who offer their spare time to do what they can to help. It can be very rewarding and there’s no greater feeling when a cat that has been in a fosterers care for a long spell, eventually finds a loving, new home.“Each new Cat Fosterer we recruit will enable us to increase the number of animals we can care for and ultimately rehome with loving owners. Their help is invaluable to us.”

Cat Fosterers provide temporary care and accommodation to stray, abandoned or injured cats and kittens in their own homes and in their spare time. Each Cat Fosterer is fully supported by Cats Protection and receives training, the equipment needed and also expenses such as veterinary bills, food and cat litter.

We presently have two fosterers in the Stranraer & District branch, we need to treble that number. If you live in the Wigtownshire area and feel you are able to contribute to the Stranraer & District Branch in any way, please get in touch. We will only be able to continue to offer help and support to the cats in this area if we have the volunteers to allow us to do so. We are presently asking for fosterers and fundraisers.

ROXY IS MISSING

Roxy is brown/ginger with black strips and a ginger splash on her back.  She’s wearing a red collar  She went missing around Monday teatime from Coronation Drive in Stranraer and her owners are desperate to find her and bring her home.  A reward is being offered for her safe return.

Good news!

Tootsie is back home with her family.  What a tinker cat – she had everyone worried!

Many thanks to everyone who spread the word around and brought about a happy ending.

 

 

This gorgeous wee girl has gone missing and her owners are desperately trying to find her and bring her home.

Sweep now has safe shelter and is no longer in a vulnerable position.  If you are interested in offering Sweep a home please contact us and we will pass you on to his carers.  Thank you to everyone who spread the word.  After this coming weekend Sweep was set to be homeless, but he now has a temporary home where he is safe and warm.

The lady who kindly took Sweep in after he was being bullied is having to move away and we are desperately trying to find a loving and safe home for him before she goes. Please click on the photograph to be taken to the Cats Protection website where you will find more details.

Tony, Lost in Stranraer

Tony was adopted so the owner doesn’t know his exact age, but he’s about 8-10 years old.  He’s grey, quite big, with a tiny white mark on his chest.

He went missing from Churchill Avenue in Stranraer on the night of Monday 29th July and his family are desperate to find him and have him home safe and sound.
