Wigtownshire needs more volunteers

Wigtownshire needs more volunteers
Cats Protection has cared for and rehomed many cats in the Dumfries and Galloway area. Each branch is always full to capacity with waiting list of cats needing to come into our care and be re homed. Unless we increase our number of fosterers, we will be unable to help a lot of cases that are brought to our attention. local branches are run purely by volunteers, who offer their spare time to do what they can to help. It can be very rewarding and there’s no greater feeling when a cat that has been in a fosterers care for a long spell, eventually finds a loving, new home.“Each new Cat Fosterer we recruit will enable us to increase the number of animals we can care for and ultimately rehome with loving owners. Their help is invaluable to us.”

Cat Fosterers provide temporary care and accommodation to stray, abandoned or injured cats and kittens in their own homes and in their spare time. Each Cat Fosterer is fully supported by Cats Protection and receives training, the equipment needed and also expenses such as veterinary bills, food and cat litter.

We presently have two fosterers in the Stranraer & District branch, we need to treble that number. If you live in the Wigtownshire area and feel you are able to contribute to the Stranraer & District Branch in any way, please get in touch. We will only be able to continue to offer help and support to the cats in this area if we have the volunteers to allow us to do so. We are presently asking for fosterers and fundraisers.
